Insurance for Non-UNC Charlotte Sports Camps

The URMIA Sports Camp Insurance Program (SCIP) provides reasonable and comprehensive sports-specific insurance to camp programs for minors that are conducted in college or university facilities.

This insurance program protects the sports camp, its coaches and counselors, and the college or university venue where the camp is held against claims by individuals who could be injured as a result of participating in the camp. In addition, campers are covered with an Excess Accident Medical Policy for medical bills related to accidents that occur at the camp.

*The Hired/Non-Owned Auto Liability coverage offered as an option by this policy does not cover the transportation of participants – coverage is for the camp entity only with regard to liability for accidents with other vehicles and the drivers of those other vehicles. For camps needing auto liability with coverage for transportation of participants, we recommend placement with a local broker who can run proper MVR reports on all drivers and place with an auto insurance carrier.
